APARTMENT 26 Deny Split Rumors

Britain's APARTMENT 26—the group fronted by Biff Butler, son of BLACK SABBATH bassist Geezer Butler—have posted a statement on their official web site refuting reports of an imminent break-up following their split with Hollywood Records earlier in the year. The statement reads as follows:

“We are still alive and very well. We have been working on our album for a long time now, experimenting and whatnot.

“For a majority of the time that we have been a band, we have lived in the USA, and watched the standard of 'commercially viable' music decline… Our absence is due partly to attempts on our part to distance ourselves from this 'nu-kids' trend, but is also the result of outside influences trying to force us to be … something we aren't.

“We have recently split ways with [Hollywood Records], who paid for the recording of [our debut album] Hallucinating. The split was amicable, and, we feel, beneficial to all concerned, which is the best way for things to go. So all in all, we're happy.

“We have no intention of splitting, and intend to continue making the music that we want to make. We can also guarantee, our new album will be a far more varied output than our previous works…

“We are still very much APARTMENT 26, so rest assured that new record will be out there soon enough, and we'll be on the road again.”
